Autumn 2024 – CS1 – Coastal Skipper/Offshore Shorebased Navigation Classroom Course

Pre-requisite – RYA Dayskipper Navigation Course or Equivalent Experience.

Advanced training for more experienced skippers building on the Day Skipper course.

This course equips you to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages. This course will take your theory knowledge to the standard required for the Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore practical exams, concentrating on advanced navigation and meteorology skills.

A comprehensive introduction to cruising for inexperienced skippers. This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

Course Location: Waterford City
Course Duration: Autumn/Winter 2024

• Four Saturdays (09:00 – 17:00)
• Three Tuesday Evenings (18:00 – 21:30)

Course Exam: Will be run on the last day of course, with revision in the morning and a 3-hour written exam in the afternoon.
